Кнопикс для этого дела лучше, я думаю.

SystemRescueCd, насколько я понимаю, заточен для работы с дисками, а в Кнопиксе напихан максимум всего, необходимого для более-менее полноценной работы, в том числе дрова всего ходового железа.
